Simi Valley is the third largest city of Ventura County's ten cities. Located in Southeast Ventura County, Simi Valley California occupies approximately 42 square miles. Simi Valley is adjacent to the northwestern perimeter of the San Fernando Valley, approximately 37 miles northwest of Downtown LA.. The city was incorporated in 1969.

                    Simi Valley History

The first inhabitants of the Simi Valley were the Chumash Indians dating back , 10,000 years.  During the Colonial Period Rancho Simi was a Spanish land grant given in 1795. Rancho Simi was the earliest Spanish land grant given in the Ventura/Santa Barbara Counties. Santa Susana del Rancho Simi  thrived. The Spanish speaking majority was joined and surpassed by Anglo settlers, developing the ranch land to farms and orchards. The name Simi Valley is derived from its postal address know as Simiopolis until it was shortened in 1910 to Simi.

​Simi Valley has really great restaurants. Some of our favorites are: Red's Barbeque, Howie's Grill & Bar, Burger Express, Ken of Japan, Sutter's Mill Restaurant, Viva La Pasta, The Hat, and for breakfast, try Eggs and Things and Jerry's Coffee Shop.



The Simi Valley Town Center is home to Macy's, Abercrombie & Fitch, the Apple Store, Brighton Collectibles, Urban Outfitters, Victoria Secret and many more. restaurants include Larson's Grill, Soup Plantation, Red Robin and California Pizza Kitchen to name a few.   The new owners of the Simi Town Center are planning a multi-million dollar renovation including a top flight park including an ice skating rink. 

​Simi Valley also has many other fine shopping centers large and small including two multiplex movie theaters, a Costco, Home Depot, Lowe's, Best Buy, and lots more...

Parks & Recreation


Simi Valley is home to over 50 Public Parks. From small pocket parks to spacious and beautiful world class parks with manicured baseball diamonds and soccer fields. Explore the old western movie sets at Corrigianville Park. Fantastic hiking and biking trails are plentiful in and around Simi Valley such as the Chumash Trail and Sycamore Canyon Trail. Simi Valley has dog and equestrian parks. 

Golf courses include Simi Hills Golf Course and Sinaloa Golf Course and Tierra Rejada, are fine Public Courses. Private Clubs include.. Wood Ranch and  Lost Canyons Golf Clubs.

​Simi Valley Unified School District boasts 21 Elementary Schools, 3 Middle Schools and 3 High Schools.
Ronald Reagan Library


The final resting place of Ronald Reagan "The Gipper" and the nation's  40th President.The facility houses Air Force One as well as a large chunk of the Berlin Wall. This beautiful library is purched over Simi Valley, Moorpark and Thousand Oaks.
